Following early graduation, spent about 14 years
involved in a variety of businesses gaining workforce
and geopolitical experience.

Went back to school earned BS, MS in Criminal Justice
and Law Degree. Worked as corporate counsel for 4
years while simultaneously operating a private law
practice.

Currently operate my own law practice in Mt. View.
Law practice's primary focus is corporate, business
and transactional litigation, negotiation and
resolution.

Still reside in Mt. View, have two children, Ashley
13, and Jamie 4. Both extremely active, caring and
loud.

I participate in the following sports, Tae Kwon Do
earned 4th degree and still involved, Golf (off and on
for 25 years "not" PGA quality), biking and an
occasional racquetball.

Accomplishments, actually graduated from Awalt's
modular scheduling.

Always look forward to hearing from friends from the
past, and changing our High School's name back to

Hi,
I have been married 23 years now and have 2 wonderful
daughters, ages 18 and 15. The 18 year old is off to
UCSD this fall.
I completed college at Cal State Hayward in 1978 and
have been working full time as a Financial Controller
until recently.
My husband Ron and I spend a lot of time following our
kids' athletic endeavors. Both are very active in
volleyball, my younger one also swims, plays soccer
and is currently interested in joining the high school
Lacrosse team.
I am planning on going back to school shortly and
completing an MBA.

I am writing this on behalf of my brother Jerry. After
graduating, Jerry moved to Truckee,Ca. and had lived
there for 30 years. He loved snow mobiling,canoeing,
fishing and going to the races. On October 10th 2006
he died at his home from carbon monoxide poisoning.

If you knew him we would love to hear from you. He
will be greatly missed.

My wife and I and our four kids moved back to
California in June 2005 from Washington state. We live
in Somerset which is in the forrest about an hour West
of So. Lake Tahoe.
I am using my 29 years experience and 5th Degree
Black Belt, ( Masters Degree ), in Tae Kwon Do as a
personal fitness trainer in martial arts. As many
of you may remember, I played drums in working bands
back in the day, one that had a record (45 RPM) on the
local radio stations. I still perform as a drummer and
singer and have for 40 years now. As of 2007, I work
playing drums with my surf rock band, Robbie Allen &
The Outer Edge, which performs all over northern Ca.
at night clubs, wineries, county fairs, country clubs,
resorts, special events, classic car shows, festivals,
and casinos from Humboldt to So. Lake Tahoe. We have a
new CD out that you can pick up on our web site:

will be performing next on our web site calendar.
Most recently, I am attending Folsom Lake College and
starting my 5th semester, going for a BA in studio

Great to find this list. Am married with 3 kids.
Oldest is headed to college. have lived in NYC,
London, SF and now reside in Atlanta, GA. Career has
been around marketing and technology. Have had several
of my own companies the last few years. Am now on the
board of an Alaskan Native Corporation working to help
develop the economic interests of the native Inupiaq
people of Alaska's tundra region.

Wow, it's amazing that we are now in our 50's and I
still don't know where the time went. Still working
on that house... Added another fur kid to the
family. I have 3 grandsons, Derick, Shawn and Jack.
Pretty sweet trick since I never had kids of my own,
but my husband did.

After I left early in 1973 I went De Anza and Foothill
College. I moved to Pacifica and now live in Concord.
Been married twice and had two children. One son living
in Washington state. And one daughter still living with
me. I work in the Graphics/Prepress industry for about
20 yrs. And found an old high school friend who got me

After bouncing up and down I-5 from the Bay Area to
Seattle and all points in between for College
(University of Oregon) and career (Carnation Co,
Pepsico, Keebler & now Starbucks). I've settled in
Redmond, WA. Been married for 17 years have two great

Thomas! A reminiscent time for those of you missing
the event -- see you at the 40th. Also recently
reconnected with my secret Awalt love interest Elena
Jensen / '75 (now Dubray). Well not exactly true --
never together at Awalt, but we are now! While Doug
announced our "informal" engagement at the reunion, it
is now official -- A "yes" to the proposal and a ring
on the finger if you will. A 2009 wedding is in the
works. Never too late for love and happiness....

Three great kids -- David, Megan and Aaron, and two
great step-sons, Michael and Jacob to come next year.

What's New?
Since graduating from Awalt, I spent a couple of
years in the Santa Cruz mountains. Headed north to
Chico State for a couple of years. Went to Heald
Business College, where I learned much to be employed
all these years. Moved to San Diego, then
Blacksburg, VA, then Washington, DC. Back to the Bay
Area (Menlo Park, San Francisco). Spent a year in
London working with a management consulting firm.
I've ended up in the country outside of Nevada City,
CA. Very serene as I look out my office window and
see beautiful oak trees surrounding my property.

Most recently I've been working at the South Yuba
River Citizens League, an environmental organization
with a mission to protect, preserve and restore the
Yuba River. The Wild & Scenic Environmental Film
Festival is a "must see" event--this year it is being
held January 11-13, 2008

Let's see-long story short-started Foothill after
graduation but took off on the road with a top 40 band
and traveled the states until 1984. Moved to Nashville
to get off the road and into the studio, but found out
its not what you know-its WHO you know! Became a
restaurant manager-got married in '85-had 2 sons(now
19 ans 21)Managed a nightclub from '87-89-divorced
in '93-retained custody of the boys. Opened a family
restaurant in '94-sold it in '96- remarried in '98-to
Christi-now 2 step daughters(now 19 and 26)Christi
works for Vanderbilt-bought a house by a lake-been
running an Applebee's for 10 years-all kids moved out-
then 2 back in and going to college. Whew!!! The boys
and I like to play music together-the cowgirls ride
horses(we have 4)Plan on retiring in Utah after the

I am married living in Seattle. My wife, Bea, and I
have two daughters, 14 and 10.
I graduated from Berklee College in Boston in 1977.
Then I received my Masters from Mills College in
Oakland in 1982. After many other adventures I got my
Doctorate from the Universtity of Washington in 1993.
All degrees are in music (big surprise) and I make my
living as a pianist, record producer, and music
director here in Seattle. I did work in high tech for
about 11 years, doing music on the side, but that got
really weird and my heart wasn't in it. So back to
being broke and having what little of my hair that's
left grow too long.

I graduated from U.C. Davis in Mechanical Engineering
in 1977. Married to Mitzi since 1980... 3 kids,
oldest is a graduate of University of Arizona and is
married to a lawyer. In Fall 2008 we will have a
freshman and senior at UA. That makes us empty
nesters. Been working at the same company since
1978... owned the company (www.rmhoffman.com) since
1990. We design and manufacure specific motion control
solutions for equipment manufactures.

Past and/or current involvements include many
charities, Boy Scouting, AYSO Soccer
refereeing, "acts of random kindness" and lots of
kids activities. We split our time between our home
in Los Altos and the Ranch near Yosemite
(www.LazyH5Ranch.com) We are a producer of eggs, beef
cattle, mini-horses etc Most recently Mitzi has been
showing her Arabian Horse all over the west. We have
eight horses and both broad mares will haves foals
next year.

We have lived in the same home in Los Altos since
1980. It is only 1/2 mile from Awalt!

Working in civil service (the Feds) since 1987 after a
ten-year career in the broadcasting industry.

Became a San Jose Sharks fan. Met my future wife on a
Sharks fan club road trip. Married since 1997.

Spending our off-hours cheering for the Sharks, going
on cruises, re-claiming our back yard from the weeds
and playing poker, in no particular order.

Looking forward to retirement (never thought I'd say
*that* in my lifetime!) in the next five to seven
years.

Generally have stayed around Silicon Valley. Left
Awalt in '73 and spent a year in Southern France.
Graduated San Jose State, UC Berkeley w/ Teaching
degrees just as Prop 13 hit. Taught French, Russian,
then ESL for 18 years. Have been employed at Hewlett-
Packard Co. for 20+ years. "HP funds my fun": worked
short stint in HP-Beijing; vacationed in Europe,
Brazil, Himalayas and more. Climbed several
mountains, once with ice axe and crampons. Besides
adventure travel, I'm a kayaking fiend -- hope to
visit the island of Palau, but I'll take the Eastern
Shore of Lake Tahoe any day. Rampant community
service includes AIDS benefits, addiction and recovery
counseling; outdoor music festivals. July '00 walked
60 miles in 3 days for breast cancer funding. Would
like to put it all together in a trip to Southern
France to study the 13th century Cathars and walk
across the Pyrenees to Spain.

My brother Erik Klee ('71) recently returned from 20+
years in Beijing. He is married and now lives in Los
Altos. My brother Peter Klee ('75) is a very
successful attorney in San Diego. He is married with
2 children. My friend Karen Ohls (now Gilbank) now
lives in Wisconsin, after many years overseas and in
Alaska. She is married with 2 children, and continues
to produce marvelous works of art.

It was great to hear from Doug about the plans to have
a reunion of the class of '73. I was only at Awalt for
freshman year but I see lots of names of my old friends
from Eastlake Elementary and Covington. I finished high
school in Connecticut, went to college at Cornell Univ,
settled in Boston and became a TV producer, moved to
Chicago and Los Angeles with different shows, married
Bob Lechner and moved to San Diego where I've lived for
more than 20 years now. We have 3 children. My oldest
is a freshman at SDSU, she plays water polo and
swims. I have a daughter in 9th grade and a son in 6th
grade. We're involved in girl and boy scouts, Orange
Crate and Pinewood Derbys and lots of school volunteer
work. I get up to Los Altos pretty regularly to see my
family.

I have been married 16 years to a
wonderful,funny,good hearted man. We have one
daughter 14, a freshman at a private christian hs.
Thank God she's into band and a great student. How
did that happen I just remember having fun and hardly
attending class. Our life is great. My youngest son
is 30 years old, and working as an electrician.My
oldest son was killed in an auto accident 13 years
ago. About the hardest thing one can live through as
a parent. But time does heal and life goes on.
We live in a beautiful area of Gilroy nestled among
vineyards and oak covered hills. A little heaven on
earth. Hope all is as well for all of you.

Hi All,
Have not stayed in touch with folks very well, but hope
this note finds you in good health and spirits.
After 10 years in Alaska, Mike and I moved to Central
Oregon in '91 and established his law office. We're
blessed with 3 healthy kids, Daughter Kelly is off to U
of Idaho, Son Jaimason is 17 and finishing his senior
year at Mountain View High in Bend, Little Molly (7) is
going into second grade here in Powell Butte.

Hi Guys,
Just had my 30 year wedding aniv. Sept 11th. We just
sold our house in San Jose (overpriced) and we are
moving to Lincoln Ca. (cheap) and seems to be a great
area by Roseville Ca. Still love football niners
season tickets since 79. Cars are a release, have a
1929 Model A Tudor, 1930 Model A 6 wheel deluxe coupe
and I have not been been able to get rid of the 1972
Buick Skylark Convertable I got my original drivers
liscense in and was the get away car for my wedding in
1976. Been packing boxes for the upcoming move and I
guess I am sentimental but I have a hard time getting
rid of stuff that is filled with memories. You people
are the Stuff of many memories. Stay healthy and

What's New?
35 years Huh? Wow!! I broke out our senior yearbook to
match faces to bios. There are a lot of people who
don't have pictures in the 1973 year book! A sign of
the times - when I opened my year book it fell apart
in the middle. Guess we are older than we thought -
lol!

I will have been married 30 years this coming July.
Dave, my husband, works for Chevron so we've moved a
few times (Marin, East Bay, Georgia, back to East
Bay). We are currently in the process of moving from
San Ramon to the Washington DC area. I have been a
Special Ed teacher on and off for 15 years. I have
also worked as an Interior Designer. I don't know what
I'll do when we get back east. It's time for a new
career I think. I have a Masters Degree in Special Ed
but am burnt out on demanding/litigous parents.There
is to much administrative stuff and not enough
teaching time!

Dave and I have a beautiful daughter who is 19 and
attends Cal Poly SLO.

I hope to be able to attend the next reunion - see
y'all (I still have my Georgia accent) then!

Hi Everyone!
I have truely enjoyed catching up on everyone's
lives. Mine has had a few turns itself. Am divorced
but have 2 beautiful children. My daughter is 24
finished with school and moving forward in the "real"
world!. My son is 21 and finishing up his senior year
in college. I am self employed as an Independent
Retail Manager/Buyer for 5 private country clubs in
the SF bay area. I also still play my flute and have
a few private students on the side. Loving Walnut
Creek and staying busy!! Hope this finds everyone

What's New?
Well - after graduating from UCSB I met my wife - a
Homestead Alum - married since 1980. We have three
boys - our eldest just graduated from University of
Arizona - our second is in his second year at U of A -
our third is a sixth grader - so much for family
planning - it was my idea though.

Started a company in 1991 - looking forward to handing
over the reins shortly. We live in Los Altos Hills.

Glad to see the Class of '73 doing so well - it was a
wild time.

In 1977 I went to a small college in Minnesota
where my father used to teach. I graduated in 1982
with a degree in Mass Communnications and ended up
working at the Des Moines Register. I married Ruth, a
woman from
Minnesota, and moved to Minnesota in 1991. I began a
small public relations consulting business that has,
over the years, become a company that specializes in
PR via websites. My clients include a Fortune 1000
company.

Ruth and I are still together, growing fat and
comfortable together. We have one daughter, 13, who is
our pride and joy. I'm involved in local Democratic
politics and a local nature center. Between that,
work and family travel, I
have little time for anything else.

I would like to thank all of you who have responded
in some way to the recent passing of my dear husband
Casey Griffin (class of 69)on December 3rd, your
support has been so appreciated. Casey and I had 28
wonderful years of marraige, 3 beautiful daughters,
and so many memories! For those of you who did not
know, Casey was a high school teacher/coach and
athletic director at Roseville high school for the
past 18 years, and was taken from us much too early
due to a heart attack. I would enjoy hearing from any
of you...
We have a scholarship fund in Casey's name at
Roseville High School, named "Pay it Forward", to
benefit a student each year who will pursue teaching
and coaching. I am honored to have enjoyed so many
years as Casey's wife, and miss him deeply.

What's New?
Hi Everyone! I have stayed in the Bay Area since
graduating Chico in '76 and have been employed in high
tech marketing positions in both software and hardware
companies. Whata racket. If I could do it over....

I can attest to the fact that good things are worth
waiting for. I met my husband in 2000 -- a great way
to start a new century. We have two young adult
sons (one married in Oklahoma; the other 'attached'
and successful in the Bay Area). Bruce and I enjoy
gainful employment and traveling but could be talked
into retirement. Need to win the lottery! We're
excited to have become grandparents in Jan. 2008 to a
sweet little boy. Though he lives in Oklahoma, we're
taking advantage of the internet and webcams! Too fun.

What's New?
After graduating from Awalt I went to school in Chico
and then moved to Kodiak, Alaska. There I married and
started a family. We moved back to California in '83.
I started a printed circuit board company in the late
80s. I spend my time between Thailand (where we have
our factories) and the Bay Area. I'm on my second
marriage (very happy!). I have a son who is 23 and in
the Airforce and a daughter who just turned 21 and is
a junior at Chico State.

11/04 update: My son finished his Airforce commitment
1 1/2 years ago. Daughter graduated from Chico State.
Both kids have have good jobs doing what they want to
do. Still spending time between Asia and the Bay Area.

I got a (Mstrs) in economics, and am now
a high school teacher in Salinas. It's generally fun.
My wife and I have a son in High School, who plays
sports and is in the Band. He loves to draw and is
quite the artist.
Other than that I race bikes to keep in shape, and for
general meditation - you don't think much when your
heart rate exceeds 178 for an extended period of time.

After one year at Foothill College, I attended San
Diego State University. I received a Bachelor's Degree
in Graphic Communication (December 1978) and a

After graduation, went to West Valley for one year and
DeAnza after that for what seemed forever while
working and playing golf all over America. I managed
to stay single until 92' when I married a girlfriend
(Coral) of 14 years. We moved to Oregon in 96' to
escape the crowds of Silicon Valley. Oregon is awesome

Went into the USAF in 73, and six years later began
working at various places in the electronics/quality
assurance field. Now I work as a civilian for the
Navy, at Kings Bay Sub Base in St. Marys, Georgia.
This is where all (or most of) your hard earned tax
dollars are squandered...Trident missile and
submarines are not inexpensive! I have a 23 year old
daughter and five dogs. Learning to ride horses.

Went to Foothill and San Jose State (BSBA degree).
Got into high tech industry (semiconductors) in 1973
and am still in it; have been in capital equipment
sales and marketing management for many years. Never
left the South Bay Area; living in Saratoga since 2000.
Wonderful wife and two great kids (son born in 1995,
daughter in 1998). Active in lots of our kids' school
and extracurricular activities (Little League [coach &
umpire], girl's softball [coach] and basketball, go-
kart racing, YMCA father/daughter club, slot car
racing ... the list is constantly growing!). Much
more fun than work!

I stay in contact with Pete Sferra, Frost Saufley,
Kurt Huffman, Loretta (Montoya) Thomas, Jim Frost and
occasionally see others from the class.

The Awalt '73 35-Year Reunion on July 26/27 was
fantastic! Help us keep finding other "lost" alumni

30 great years in the Space Systems division of
Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin) in Sunnyvale. My
daughter calls me a rocket scientist. I'm actually a
physicist with BS/MS degress from UCSB with an
emphasis in orbital mechanics / stellar navigation.
Very happily divorced (whew, glad that's over), 2
adult children (daughter 20 & son 22). Life is good,
gonna retire is 2 or 3 years after my daughter
finishes college !!!

What's New?
Played baseball at Foothill College 73-74 and 74-75
seasons, then at San Jose State 75-76 and 76-77
seasons. Drafted by the SF Giants in 75 but didn't
sign; after that they lost interest. Since my
shoulder went to shit, easy to see why.

Bummed around til 1980 when I discovered rock
climbing; then became a bum with a purpose - climb El
Cap. Been there, done that.

In 87 returned to Foothill to work on an Enginneering
degree; also went to work at Alza Corp (pharma) in
Palo Alto. Transferred to UC Davis in 89, graduated
with a BSME in 91 and went to work full-time at Alza
in Vacaville.

Met my wife Jennifer in 89, married in 90. Still
climbed, but not as much, but managed an El Cap route
each year til 96. Son Zach in 92 and daughter Emily
in 93 ushered in a changed perspective, but it took
me a while to catch on.

Working now at Genentech in Vacaville - world's
largest biotech manufacturing plant. Been there
since start-up in 97 managing mechanical and
instrument maintenance.

Coached Little League with Zach from when he was 7 in
Farm til 14 in Juniors. He's now a sophomore in HS
on the JV squad - 1st base and OF; was the 2 guard on
the JV basketball team; was the defensive player of
the year for the Varsity soccer team.

Emily is a freshman. She plays violin in the
orchestra and has danced with the 'Cowtown Cloggers'
for years.

Both are 4.0 - can't say I was in HS (had a different
drummer, the road less traveled, etc.)

My wife Jennifer is the best thing that has ever
happened to me. I'm so indescriably lucky to have
her; that she puts up with me is testament that she

What's New?
Hi there. How y'all doing. I've been living in North
Carolina since 1978. That's almost long enough to be
considered to be from around here. Pelham is in a
rural area about 30 miles north of Greensboro NC. I've
been married 28 years. All of them to the same
southern woman, she is from around here. We have 3
children, ages 26,20, and 8. I have been employed as a
firefighter for 19 years and also work as campus staff
for International Students Inc. assisting
international students on some of the local university
campuses. If I am not working or gardening then you
can find me at one of the soccer fields. I still love
to play soccer, in an over 40 league, and I also
officiate at high school games. Some of my other
favorite things to do are snow skiing, hiking, and
white water rafting, but I only do these things once
in a while. Well if you've made it to the bottom of
this little bit of news it might mean that you were
interested in what has happened to Tim. I make it out
to the Bay Area every so often and it would be great
to get together. If you would like to get back in
