What's New?
What is patent drafting? When you want to patent your
invention, a patent attorney (or agent) writes the
application, and I draw the illustrations. That's
right, I get paid for sitting around drawing pictures

What's New?
I have four great kids, Jessica, 22 graduating from
UCSD this year and just returned from interning at
the White House. She leaves for law school this
Fall - Blake, 20, graduating from college this year
as well in Business Marketing, Ashley 19, attending
Orange Coast College and Eric 14, in eighth
grade.... I have recently returned to school as well
working on my BA in History/Art History. Would love

What's New?
After attending De Anza College and gradurating from
the Automotive Techonolgy program ,I was working as a
automotive mechanic for 10 year. After 10 years I had
enough of the customers ! So I moved into the banking
field!
I was working for a contractor working on ATM's , then
I went to work for Bank of Americia for the last 10+
years. I was a Field Service
Technician for B of A and I repair almost anything
inside of the bank. I love my job and hope to stay
with it for a while. As of Jan 2001 BofA sold our
division out to a company call Diebold , Yea the one
that made the POS election machine! . But I work for
the physical Security division . I am a Locksmith now
and I still love my job. Now with Diebold I do work
for all the banks and other customers like stores and
hotels, it's great. Driving around all day sometimes
gets to you , but I love being outside, and not having
a boss looking over your shoulder ig nice too!
In 2005 I joined San Jose Search & Rescue and now I am
learning all sorts of cool things.
I am still in touch with most of my High
school buddys and maybe even more after this. I hope
all of you guys are doing good,

What's New?
Hello in there: I've had one of the wilder lives I can
think of. I've bounced around a lot of different
cities and ecosystems. Where are most of the people
of 78? Who died? Who needs some cheering up?
If anybody wants to pick up an e mail pal or pen
pal let me know. Word of caution though... I haven't
put a lot of stock in acting old, or believing much
about people based on how they look or act on the
outside. "Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are
starving to death!" Don't ossify you guys...there was
a time when you said you wouldn't.

What's New?
Let's see, where to start. Graduated from Whittier
College in 1982. Awarded a Cal. State Assembly
Fellowship, got disgusted with politics so I came
home and went to work for Intel Corporation in 1983.
Spent almost 17 tough, but rewarding years
there...took a buy out package in August of 2001.
Started a high tech sales and marketing consulting
business in 2002 which believe it or not has been
doing great despite the downturn.

I am newly divorced :-(, but have two wonderful boys
ages 12 and 14. I am very active in sports, all
outdoor stuff, love to cook.

What's New?
I have 3 great sons...Daniel 23, Steven 11 and Sammy 9.
Now single and love my independence.

At one point in HS, I drove a silver Honda Civic
Hatchback. After school one day I went to the parking
lot and my car was not in the spot I left it....it was
on the side lawn!! I want to know who is responsible
for picking up my car and moving it?!?

What's New?
Currently, I'm the Tactical Medical Team Leader of the
Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (14 years). Day job,
I'm currently a Detective, doing death investigations,
also at the Sheriff's Office.

Still also a Doctor of Chiropractic, and have a small,
casual practice when I'm not doing my OTHER jobs.

I lecture occasionally locally and in Europe on
various topics...from Terrorism (Psycho-Epistomology
of various terrorist types.) Fun, huh?

It would be great fun to hear from former classmates,

Hi, Hello and Bonjour!

Anyone else at CAL in the early 80's? My
Anthropolgy/Archeology studies didn't get me out
nearly enough to know if any of my Awalt classmates
were there!!!!!!!!!Though my time in Paris and it's
1980's nightlife nearly made a mummy out of me;-)

I'm in the sunny south of France, having moved here 4
years ago. Happy, healthy (if you don't count the red
wine and cigarettes that accompany this French
lifestyle!) I was in San Francisco for 15 years,
where I had an interior design business, but the call
of the French was too strong and I had to get
going.......What a great choice! I am so blessed to
have formed another life, on the other side of the
planet, that includes friends from all over the world
and frequent visits from family and long time American
friends.

I've spent time renovating some properties in Provence
and now have a few seasonal rentals in the heart of
the historic district of Aix en Provence and in the
Vaucluse. I had an experience different than Peter
Maille's(sp?), but that's a long story.........

I feel so lucky to be in a country where the visuals
are so inspiring, the food and produce so good that I
have had the opportunity to hone my design and cooking
skills (and my knives also!)and gain 20 pounds all at
the same time.

Can't come to the reunion in Sept. but is anyone up
for a get together in January in San Francisco?

Although I did not graduate from Awalt (I was in the
Los Altos Alternative program and ended up in Germany
my senior year) I don't have any big career to talk
about. I did work for Apple in the 80's those were
the days I also had a fun job at Ridge Vineyards then
I married and had 3 kids Evan,18 Davey,15 and
Caitlin,12 We lived in Cupertino. Divorced in 95.
Married now and living in Davis, home of UCD, a

After graduating from Awalt, I married my one & only
love and moved back east, near Washington, DC. There
I remained for 19 years, got a B.S. in Computer
Science, had my wonderful son and worked a lot of
great jobs. Now I'm back in California (Yayyy!!!),
still in love with my husband, still think my son is
perfect, and still work at one of my great jobs -- as
an independent contractor for the Smithsonian

What's New?
Moved to Colorado 11/97. With 14 years at Sun
Microsystems behind me, I have been working on my
photography business. I have covered nascar, NHL,
MLB, shot a lot of portraits, weddings, and just
about anything someone will pay for. I have
been to many places, seen many things and I have met
some amazing people along the way. I have been a
pilot since 1991 and love it. Hoping the real estate
market stays strong in CA and enjoy being a land
baron. I ski, look for something good in everyone,
play golf and travel. Been a consultant for the
Children's Hospital in Denver for the last year.
What an amazing place!

What is the news on the 30 year reunion? Gotta know
when I need to start losing that extra 167 lbs I
packed on. :^)

What's New?
After grad, completed college at UCLA then worked in
health education and cardiac rehab, found that I
really enjoyed education and health, went back to
school in 99 for a masters in public health.
Graduated 2001 and worked in community-based/non-
profit org doing health ed and access to health care.

Married Julie 1993, have one daughter, Maggie, now 6.
After 25 years in LA, wanted a different life where
both of us did not have to work full-time to pay a
mortgage. Moved to St. Louis where Julie has parents
and two siblings. Been working at Saint Louis
University in School of Medicine for 3 years.
Coordinate programs for family medicine students,
also programs to support disadvantaged youth getting
into health careers and improving access to care in
medically underserved areas. Miss friends, and the
Mighty Mississippi is not the Pacific Ocean, but all
we moved for is here, great 100 year old home,
community, school district, and love my work. My
parents are still well and in Sunnyvale, my sister
has three kids, lives in Menlo Park, so we get out to

What's New?
I have lived many places since Awalt and ended up in
Yelm Washington,(20 miles east of Olympia).
Was married for 24 years. Two sons,
Joseph now 26 and newly married (and giving me a
grandchild in January 2008). Rocky now 22, is
finishing up college and still around the house.
I started up a few old hobbies since the
divorce. Bought a new Harley last summer,
looking forward to puttin' some miles on it.
I work as an admitting rep. in the emergency room at a
non-profit hospital in Olympia.
Taking some classes at the
community college and just getting on with
life. Would love to hear from "old" friends
and "old" new friends!
I am looking for Carrie Simi. Has anyone seen or
talked to her lately? Would appreciate any and all

What's New?
Met a wonderful girl Nancy and somehow convinced her
to marry me. Best thing I ever did. We quit our
jobs and went to school at Chico State where I
majored in Comp Sci and she in liberal studies. We
have two girls 18 and 13.

I have been working in the Network industry since
1993 and now work as a senior network
analyst/engineer. We moved to Colorado in 98 to
escape the concrete that had covered the farmland
there.

What's New?
After graduation I attended the Univ. of Utah to ski
and have been passionate about it ever since. I have
been in Las Vegas for 18 years now and work in the
insurance business.

My wife and I have two children, Alec is 19 and is a
missionary for our church in Peru. He will serve
there for 2 years. Jake is a junior in high school
and loves playing sports, and is involved in
broadcasting. 4 dogs and 4 cats keep the house
interesting. Time marches on.

I am married to Matt and have two girls ages 9 and
11. I was a programmer until I had my first daughter,
then quit work to be a stay at home mom. I went back
to work almost 3 years ago as a Chiropractic Assistant
when my husband decided to pursue his passion and

After graduation I attended CSU Chico and received a BS in Marketing.
I have been working in the fashion industry for my entire career.
Nordstrom 10 years, Giorgio Armani and Hugo Boss each for 3 years
and just finished the last 5 years at Tumi as the VP or Retail
Development. I just accepted and will be starting a new position as
COO of Solstice Marketing Group. Safilo SPA in Italy owns the company
and we have 115 Solstice Sunglass Boutiques in North America.

I have lived in NYC for the past 15 years with my life partner Fernando.
We have a great life in the city and escape on the weekend to our
beach house. No kids yet but we are just starting the adoption
process. We do have an amazing English Cocker Spaniel “Banks” who
just turned 10.

My family still lives in Mountain View and I get home often. I have
great memories of Awalt. I hope we have a 30 year reunion. Would
love to hear from old friends. All the best!
