Wow, I've got to update this thing more often.
Although nothing has really changed, other than that
my kids are older (not me, I'm not aging). My daughter
is a senior this year, and my sons are (almost) 14 and
10. My husband still works at Qwest, and we're still
in Colorado.

What's New?
Well, life in the valley, I've switched jobs and
needed to update the email. I'm back in the medical
device industry, heading up Operations. Must be that
mechanical geek in me.

My wife Anna & I had twins last August. We are now at
3 and holding. Amazing to read about people with kids
in college, especially when I have 3 under the age of
4.

I will keep this short and simple. Since graduation, I
worked with our family business, commercial and
industrial landscaping,(Sunnyvale Town Center and
places like that),for about 15 years, moved to Montana
and had my own excavating and grading business, too
much winter and not enough work brought me back to
Ca., went back to school for an HVAC certification and
I am currently working for Abbott Laboratories as a

What's New?
Wow, went to the reunion last night and thought I
should add my name to this list. It was great seeing
everyone! I live in Cupertino with my husband
Bob(married 14 years). Have an 8 year old little girl
named Lauren and a son named Zachary who is 4 and a 20
year old step daughter named Santana. Went to
San Jose State and later to UOP in Stockton graduating
with a MA in Education. Have taught in Santa Clara
Unified for 19 years. Currently teaching Kindergarten
for my 7th year at Ponderosa Elementary School in
Sunnyvale and loving it. My family enjoys cross country
skiing, kayaking, camping and traveling whenever
possible. Heavy into AYSO, Bobby socks and Girl
Scouts. Traveled to Alaska on a cruise with my family,
my parents and my brother Alex's family and had a
blast! Also went to Maui for our annual trek to Napili
Kai Beach Resort for 2 weeks. Still in touch with Judy
Johnson-Lietzke, Janice Upton-Blumer and Linda
Reinhardt. My parents still live in the same house on
Covington Court in Los Altos. It's great hearing about
everyone on this website!

Still working at Kaiser Hospital as a Unit Secretary in the Cardiac Unit,
(wow sound like a broken record) May '09 will be my 29th year. And in
my spare time designing jewelry my "fun job".
So both kids have moved out and now it's just me and the husband and
all our dogs...hmmm...where did the time go? Now it's time to do all
those things for the house, since we are done paying for
school/cars/etc...
Still keep in touch with Marcia(Snow) Caldwell and Carolyn(Durie) Osuyos
and occasionally talk to Karen( Westfall) Gruchow. Joe Ekman is my
"friend" on Facebook...hehe. Are we doing a 30th? I missed the 25 due to

What's New?
Cannot believe how much has happened since I last
updated this in 2006. We are still the proud owners
of the infamous "Lobstah Shack" in Redwood City. The
official name is really "Old Port Lobster Shack" and
who knew what a following we would have by x-east
coasters and now Californian's. Russell and I
couldn't be more pleased with our following of folks
needing a lobster roll fix and our now
famous "chowdah." Our boys are now 4 & 6 and doing
well.

Since Awalt…..
I'm married to Sue Anne and we have 5 children. I have
lived in Monterey County of 22 years. We own an
automotive service business in downtown Monterey. Our
business is across the street from Fisherman’s Wharf
and a few blocks from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I’m
also a part time instructor of Automotive Technology
and small business management courses at Monterey
Peninsula College. Sue Anne is a Physical Therapy
Assistant in a busy practice in Salinas. There is more

Two of our children are attending Cal Poly State
University in San Luis Obispo and two are attending
San Jose State. Our youngest is in high school. They
are all doing well and are looking forward to an
exciting future. We are active in our church and

I participate in industry related organizations and
serve as a director on two boards.

For fun, we visit the kids; enjoy boating, skiing,
wine tasting, camping, travel and entertaining friends

Well, after the big wave life sort of changed, some
for the good and some for the bad! Have my own company
again after working for someone else for a few years,
it is in property management. A little less stressful.

and native San Diegan. Moved to Chicagoland in '86.
Had a great career in high tech sales. Retired at 40

I've been married to Dan Faubion for nearly 22 years.
Our oldest son Ben is majoring in construction
management at Sac State, and will be married this
coming June. Daughter Heather is a drummer girl,
playing in bands, and graduating from high school this
year. Youngest son, Christopher is a sophmore. He loves
to fish and snowboard. We will be empty nesters
soon. We are enjoying some travelling now, look forward
to more. I have been a Rehabilitation Services Manager

What's New?
I am currently living in Palo Alto with my two
children 16 and 18. My oldest starts college this
year! After graduating Awalt I went to Foothill then
on to Santa Clara University, where I graduated with a
degree in Psychology. I worked in a start up for a
couple of years and got married in ’86. We moved to
Washington in ’89 and had two children, I was a stay-
at-home mom for 10 years. I ran a buying coop and was
in several others. I was a Daisy Leader, Brownie
Leader and then Service Area Manager for the Girl
Scouts. Being in the Girl Scouts was right up my ally,
I loved all the crafts and even liked the camping. I
ran the annual summer camps for my area, it was always
fun meeting the new girls.

In 2000 we moved onto South Dakota. I went to work at
the Great Plains Zoo as their event coordinator. It
was great to go eat my lunch by the monkeys or
rhino’s. My children and I moved back to the bay area
in 2002. I currently work in Palo Alto as an Event and
Communications Coordinator. Arranging events,
designing collateral materials and managing a websites.

For fun still I love to dance, any kind but my
favorite is ballroom! I work out a lot, I’m currently
into the rowing machine, but I do zumba (it’s a Latin
dance/aerobics), yoga, palates and cycle. I also like
bowling and billiards, I’m not good at either, but
they are still fun! I spend my spare time with my kids
doing what ever they are into at the time.

After graduation, attended Foothill Jr. College for a
year or so. No surprise, I'd rather join the work
force. Been with Kaiser Permenente going on ten
years. Have a great department I work with. Met my
handsome husband at a "classic" car show in '88. He
has a beautiful '59 El Camino that I jokingly refer to
as "the other woman". We've been married 15 years and
have two beautiful daughter's. Elizabeth is almost
12, and Christina is 8. We're amazed at their social
calendars. Can't imagine what the teenage years have

After High School, I spent a couple years skiing in
Tahoe. I came back and went to Foothill, then transferred to Berkeley
and graduated with an engineering degree in 1986. I now have a small
engineering company that specializes in energy analysis and
mechanical system design for energy-efficient buildings.

Married to Ellyn for 13 years now, daughters Lucy (8) and Ruby (6).
Plenty of girl power in our household!

I still stay in touch with Lee Parkinson (LAHS '79, fellow Bob's Big Boy
employee), John Merwin, Shandy Newton and her sister Robin, Rick
Weyers, Steve Payne, Dan Faubion and Janet (Harman).

I graduated from Caltech in 1983, then later
went back to graduate school and got a Ph.D.
in planetary sciences from U. Arizona in 1995.
I moved to Puerto Rico, and have been working
at Arecibo Observatory since then as a research
scientist. We are keeping the world safe from
colliding asteroids. (And I sure wish I'd taken
Spanish in high school instead of German!)

I married Mike Nolan in 1996, and we have 3 kids,
Rhiannon 7, Tristan 4, and Jasper 1.5. My niece
graduated from Awalt (MV) High in 2003, and amazingly
a couple of teachers I had are still there. It's
interesting to see what people have done.

After leaving Awalt, I graduated from UCLA with a BA
degree in Sociology. After leaving college, I moved
back to the Bay Area where I worked for a company in
Palo Alto. In 1985, I moved back to Los Angeles
where I worked in advertising and later moved into
publications work for a large oil company in
Westwood. In 1988, I met and married my husband,
Craig who graduated from USC film school. He works
in the film industry and I am a very busy mom of two
boys, Brett (12) and Ryan (10). We have a beautiful
home in Chatsworth, in the San Fernando Valley. I
haven't attended an Awalt reunion for years and I'm
so looking forward to seeing everyone in August!

2004 - Graduated from SJSU in '85,worked in Natural
Foods Manufacturing for awhile. Got married, moved
to Fairfield, two boys, now 12 & 14, stay at home Mom
for ten years. Back to college '96 - Teaching
Credential and Masters. Teaching 2nd grade in
Vacaville and run a reading program after school -
gotta get those kids reading! In teaching - I have
finally found what I want to be when I grow up - I
love it! My next goal is to write some children's
books and illustrate them!
Still married to the same wonderful guy, we had a few
rough years, but worked through it. Life is good!!!

What's New?
We are still finding it hard to believe that we have
lived the last 16 years in the Dallas area. We now
have two Cowboys fans (Shannon is 7 and Jason is 4) in
the family, but we always hold out hope of returning
one day to the west coast. Meanwhile I love my job as
a Mechanical Engineer with Raytheon (formerly Texas
Instruments) and it continues to be flexible to match
my busy lifestyle. My husband, Doug, is a middle

What's New?
Went to nursing school at Cal State Hayward, graduated and got married
in 1985. Had my son Cameron who is now 19 and a sophomore at Santa
Clara Univ. I married my second husband in 1992, his name is Mark Arya
-went to Homestead and Cal, is a soccer coach and is in sports sales and
marketing. I am now a Public Health Nurse in Sonoma County, where we
just finished building our house in the country.
I sing in a jazz band and we're preparing for our first gig- it's the most
fun I've had singing since singing with the Reflections at Awalt!!

What's New?
I became a welder in the mid-80s in Mountain View, got
married in 1987, and we moved to San Diego in 1990. My
wife Marysue and I ended up owning and running bicycle
stores for about 13 years. For the past 10 years I
also have been building doing bicycle frames, and
recently applied for a utility patent for a take-apart
travel bike design. We currently live in Albuquerque, NM.

What's New?
Wow...30 years already? Any reunion plans???
I'm still in the same Los Altos house, and I substitute
teach at Oak Elementary. I was an instructional aide
for 10 years, until the budget cuts got me. Lizzie is
now in her 2nd year at UC Santa Cruz and is a DJ for
their radio station. Michelle is a Senior at MVHS
(Awalt for us), plays varsity basketball and is very
artistic - she's currently pondering college options.
Jim and I are getting used to not having kids around
all the time, and we must admit, we like the peace and
quiet! Lately, I've seen many alumni, and have been
lucky to find people on Facebook and through Awalt
Barry Ehrlich and Robin Kramer Band sites. Hope
everyone is well, and staying forever young.

I now live in Danville and just love the TriValley
area.
I was offered a great job and moved to Pleasanton,

Moved to Portland in 2002. I'm loving Portland. So
much so that I'm moonlighting as a writer/reviewer
for Citysearch. I'm getting paid to eat and drink and
shop and go clubbing. Still working for HP managing

I've been living in Central Florida for 15 years with

I "retired" from my career as a Registered Dietitian

I was working for the John Wirth Co. in Mt View Cal
for the last 15 Years! The Wirth Co was owned by
John R Wirth farther of David Wirth, Grad of Awalt and
a good Friend. Well Mr. Wirth retried and sold the Co.
I then started my own Handyman service (Brain's
Handyman Service) and have been doing Great! Need

year anniversary aboard a Windjammer Sailboat cruise

Well,

I'm back in CA. I moved to So Cal, Buena Park, right
down the street from Knott's Berry Farm in May of
2008. I still have three kids of my own. They will
be 6, 9 & 12 in May. I work as a marketing manager at
a company called Powerwave.

I am engaged to a "catch" Michelle and with that comes
two stepdaughters, 27 & 28 and two step grandkids 4 &
9. Also we just got two Boston Terrier puppies!

I haven't made a reunion since the tenth so I figure
it's about time. How's that planning coming Deanna?

What's New?
Can't believe that it's already been 30 years....I'm
still riding my motorcycles & working hard, raising my
kids with my beautiful wife Debi. Finally getting
that payback my parents warned me about as a teenager,
raising 3 kids of my own..16, 18 & 19...Never a dull
moment in our house. Trying to keep in touch with old
friends seems tough - but I still occassionaly talk to
Phil Cole, go dirt bike riding with Andy Halin, and
enjoy family barbeques with Frank & Grace Catanzaro.
Spoke to Barry Worth & Tim Gilles afew years ago--Some

What's New?
I am currently living in the beautiful town
of Sonoma in the California Wine
Country...otherwise known to the locals as "God's
Country". After Awalt I graduated from St. Mary's
College and did the Silicon Valley thing for fourteen
years. After teaching a web design class I was
bitten by the teaching bug and went back to school for a Master's
Degree in Education and a teaching credential. I am now a full-time
high school teacher. I teach math, web design and other computer
classes. I am married to Kevin who I met while
working at Apple many years ago. I have three
children, Caitlin (16), John (11), and Andrew (7).

What's New?
I graduated with a BA from UCLA and Masters degree in
Counseling Psychology from Boston College. Now I am a
licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both
California and Hawaii and have been practicing
as a therapist for over 10 years. I met my husband
while finishing my private pilot's license (he is a
professional pilot) and we are currently living on the
island of Oahu. I missed the reunion because I had
just given birth to my first child, Brianna (8-22-99).

I graduated with a BA from UCLA in 1983 then finished
a Masters in Psych from Boston College in 1987. I have
been licensed as an MFT (marriage and family
therapist) for 18 years. I had a very busy career
(and got my private pilots license somewhere along the
way) until I married my husband and had two girls
(ages 7 and 9). After living in Northern California,
Hawaii and Las Vegas, we settled on 5 acres in
Southern Washington State (just North of Portland OR).

What's New?
Married, 4 kids, boy 15, girl 13, boy 12, girl 10,
living in Auburn, CA for the last 12 years. Still
working for Hewlett Packard (14 years) in a software
lab. Still playing drums at church. Recently joined
the Civil Air Patrol www.cap.gov doing volunteer
flying/search and rescue. Helped with the Steve
Fossett search. Also, our squadron went on a "Friends
and Family" cruise on the Aircraft Carrier Ronald
Reagan. We were allowed to stand within 30 feet of the
wingtips as they launched/recoved FA-18 Hornets.
Everyone should get to experience this!

What's New?
Graduated UC Davis in 1983 with B.S. in Environmental
Toxicology. Married Anne Barton (Awalt class of 1980)
in 1984. We have a daughter (17) and a son (14).
We've been living in the south bay since college.

I'm the Industrial Hygiene and Safety Manager at Roche
Palo Alto (formerly Syntex) in Palo Alto, where I've
been since 1991. Before that I was at AMD for about 7
years. Helping ensure a safe and healthy work
environment for people is very rewarding.

Anne and I have been St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in
Mountain View since we were married. It's an awesome
church! I'm still playing soccer occasionally and
spending a lot of time working in the yard.

What's New?
Since I graduated from Awalt and finalized my exchange
program I have been living in Sweden, Switzerland,
Norway, back in the US for 5 more yrs and Argentina.
Now back in Sweden. Graduated in Swdden with a MBA in
Finance and have been working within that field since.

Was back in Mt View three yrs ago and to me it looked
the same.

Married, three kids, divorced so now I have an
appartment in Stockholm and one in NYC.
