Since graduation spent nearly 20 years in the legal
profession, finally settling in as a paralegal for the
last seven years. Currently working in litigation
with a large Northwest law firm. Am currently serving
my second term as Vice President and Director of
Positions and Issues for the National Federation of
Paralegal Associations, Inc. I am a frequent
contributor to local, state, and national magazines
writing on legal ethics, regulation of the paralegal
profession, and diversity and a frequent speaker on
legal writing, ethics, regulation, and diversity at
local and national events. Last year I taught
Computer Applications for Paralegals at Pioneer
Pacific College and really enjoyed it. I'm hoping to
do more teaching in the future.

I've really enjoyed reading about what people are up
to.

I went to U.C. Berkeley after Awalt and graduated in
1986. I met my wife (Victoria) at Cal at my
graduation ceremony. Her family and mine are big Cal
fans (go Bears!). I received my masters in business
from San Jose
State University (1993) while working as the director
of the Business Student Advisement Center. We have
two kids, ages 9 and 6.
We live in
Los Altos. Victoria (who also has her
J.D. and a teaching credential) teaches at Terman
Middle school in Palo Alto. I work
for Coldwell Banker (Los Altos) selling
homes in Los Altos and surrounding areas. I used to
run into Jeff Leonard (1982) a lot until he sold
Skips, but haven't seen to many fellow alumni around.
I recently completed a 4 year stint as the boys water
polo coach at Mountain View (1998-2001). Take care.

Went to SJCC for awhile. Then moved to Bend Oregon in
83. Married the love of my life, Debbie McConnell in
85. We moved back to California in 86. Been back in
Mtn. View since 95. Worked several jobs until opening
our motorcycle shop in 91. Now California Customs has
been recognized in numerous national magazines and
won numerous shows.
We have 2 kids, Joe Jr. is graduating from Mtn. View
in 2007. Melissa is going to Crittenden now and will
be at either Los Altos or Mtn. View High next year.
Sorry I missed the 20 year, Debbie was there though.
I hope to make the next one. I was voted most changed

Well my life has taken many zig zags....I was married
for 10 years. I have a daughter Melissa who is
graduating High School this year.I still have kitties.
Just finished doing Beauty and The Beast. It was the
first show my daughter and I were actually performing
in together.
Yes I am still doing theater. Singing when I can.
I cook for a living for the Senior Nutrition Program
for the City of San Jose. I serve lunch to 50-150
people everyday. I Home Chef and Cater on the side.
Looking to change jobs though so you might see a new

I have been happily married for 18 years, with 2
kiddo's, 21 and 17. I married a Homestead High
grad.(1982 too). His name is Dan Hackett. We live on
the Central Coast of Ca. I work for Atascadero State
Hospital with the criminally insane. In contrast to
my patients I generally feel "normal".

I am still best buds with Nancy Klevickis, we still
talk on a weekly basis. She lives in the Sacramento
area. She is the Auntie to my kids.

Hey everyone!

After Awalt I went to UCSD for a year, then to UCLA
for 3 years, and finally to UCSF Dental School
graduating in 1990. I have 2 offices, one in Auburn
and the other in Roseville, CA. Dentistry is great
but I would much rather be waterskiing.

In 1994 I met my wife, Yvonne, and we married in
1996. We have the most beautiful girls, Paige who is
almost 4 and Nina who is 18 months. Life pretty much
revolves around them. Yvonne's "job" is much harder
then mine.

I still get together with Barry Thompson, John Olsen,
Doug Koo, Joe Parente, Nick Granoski, and Mike
Dougherty every year to remember our great friend,
Donnie Nusbaum. We pick a different place each time
and it usually involves a lot of talking, laughing,
drinking, and golfing.

I wish we could have made it to the reunion. I'm sure
it was a kick!

I was very fortunate to have joined a successful
internet company during it's early days back in 2001.
I was able to buy a house in Mtn. View and am still
working for this company (although I'd really like to
retire!).

My passion these days is rescuing Boston terriers from
shelters and from people who are no longer able to keep
their dogs. I started up a non-profit organization
called Bostons by the Bay Rescue and boy are we busy!
There's a constant stream of Bostons throughout
Northern CA who need help and it's pretty much like
having a second full-time job! But, I love helping
these dogs and getting them placed into wonderful

Hello Everyone! Remember me? I am semi-retired after
15 years in the Semiconductor Industry, most recently
at Intel Corp. Got married last year to the
woman of my dreams and recently moved to lovely Laguna
Beach. My main job now is to show others how to get
healthy and make money in the Wellness industry. I
chose to wait for the right lady to come around,
instead of settling for anything less, and therefore
have enjoyed childless freedom all of these years! I
know that having children is great and all, but how
many of you would actually prefer to not have kids
running your life? Not sure if kids are in our future
b/c we enjoy travel and spontaneity that having no

Well... it is truly a joy to read about everyone. Me?
I went to college in Chico and later attended
Universiy of San Francisco. I have been working for
Hewlett-Packard in Roseville, CA for the past 14 years
and loving every minute of it. I am currently an
Account Manager for one of our repair vendors.

On a personal note, I am not married and have no
children. I live in Roseville with my Doberman, Cleo
and my Basenji, Kilee.

My mother and sisters still live and work in the bay,
so I am frequently wandering the old haunts.... I
can't believe that I NEVER run into anyone. Just
Greg, the creepy owner of JP Liquors. I drive
by 'future' park and Old Cal, but no one's there!
Unbelievable.

I still talk to Andrea Hammack weekly, Laura Johnson-
Coates still e-mails me on my birthday every year and
today I received an e-mail from Chip Utley! It is so
nice to know that after all these years.... some
people will never forget you.

I graduated from UC San Diego in 1986, worked in San
Francisco for a few years before getting my MBA from
Stanford in 1992. I am married (Kathy) and have 3
kids (Brandon 9, Tyler 7, Lauren 3 mos). I live in
Menlo Park and work for a high tech company when I am
not golfing or chasing my kids.

A couple years ago, a few of us started an annual trip
to remember our friend Donnie Nusbaum. Barry

Up until 2000, Eric Shimp and I owned Skip's Place in
Los Altos. We entered into a couple of contracts for
other restaurants including the original Skip's at
Fremont and Mary in Sunnyvale, but never were able to
close the deal.

I finished my MBA at UC Irvine in June 2001 and got
married two weeks later. Christine and I live in
Mission Viejo with our sons Anthony 4 yrs and Justin 2
yrs.

Out of grad school I worked for a small bank, which
ended up being the fastest growing bank in California
for five years. In September of 2006, the bank was
listed among Fortune Magazines 100 Fastest Growing
Companies. Ironically, we were acquired by WaMu in a
$1.0 billion deal that closed on Oct. 1. 2006.

For the six years I was with the bank, I led the
marketing department and after it went public the IR
department. I also oversaw the efforts of the bank's
Community Foundation for the two years it existed.

Newport Beach law firm that specializes in employment
and labor law litigation.

1985 - Got stationed at Moffett Field! Married in 1986
to Lisa, best friend and soul mate for ever!

Flew in P-3 Orions as an InFlight Tech. Had daughter,
Brandi, in 1989. Had son, James, in 1992 just before
getting out of the Navy. Got out of Navy in 1992,
moved to Overland Park, KS for five HORRIBLE years -
Mom died, weather sucked, people were narrow minded,
pay was crappy - should I go on?

Let's see...
I graduated from UC Davis in 1987 with an Economics
degree and settled in the
east bay for about 11 years, living in the Berkeley
area
and working in the unholy financial district. After 4
layoffs in those 11 years, i uprooted myself and went
to
graduate school in Washington DC at Gallaudet
University, an all Deaf school, and got a Masters
degree
in ASL linguistics. During that time, i really got
involved in the academic life and enjoyed it so much
that i got a job at Foothill College last year and came
back to Mt. View to work as a program coordinator at
the
Middlefield Campus for various programs. I also teach
beginning American Sign Language classes through
various Adult Education programs in the South Bay.
Seems odd that life for me went
full circle and I eventually ended up back here
again...

Busy here with the family-husband, Tony, son, Joey
(12) and daughter, Ali (10). In addition to being
soccer mom and taxi driver, I also volunteer a lot at
the school. Our free time is spent in the great

Since Awalt, I graduated college - thought for a while
moment that I'd be in school forever, but got a MS in
Audiology.

Married 1992, had a girl Jan '95 -Makena - means gift
in hawaiian and she is, she starts first grade this
year. She loves ballet, boogie boarding, camping, and
of course Barbie!

I divorced 1998.

I am currently in a 3 year relationship and engaged. I

Makena - she starts 2nd grade this year. She also
loves ballet, surfing and barbie! I'm surrounded.

I was a stay at home dad for four years after my
daughter was born and wrote a lot. I am currently
working as an Audiologist in the Los Angeles area. I
have been writing for several years, currently working
a children's series of books. Thinking of school
again, but not sure if at my advanced age I can handle
it.

What's New?
All is still great, my daughter, Ashley (19) is in her
second year at West Valley. Mariah (13) 8th grade,
God I hate junior high!!!

Recently, my husband and I celebrated our 20th
anniversary!! We're stilling living in San Juan

Myself, Graduated BS Art and Design from Cal Poly, San
Luis Obispo. Marketing/Promotions Director for
Copeland's Sports until 1996. Started my own Design
firm, illustrated children's books & software, greeting
cards, designed interiors etc... 1999 went to work for
a dotcom and had lots of fun. Currently own WM Design
Consulatants where we design residential homes,
restaurants etc.
Married, 14 years to my soulmate, Bill, who is Senior

I am currently living in Central California with my
wife of 16 years, Jill Sidebottom (Class of 82), and
two boys ages 11 & 13. Since Awalt, I earned my BS
degree in Aeronautics from San Jose State and began
working in the Defense Industry for Lockheed-Martin,
Logicon, Space Systems/Loral, and am currently at
Scitor Corporation. Our move was purely for quality
of life and has enabled Jill to remain home with the
boys. Jill teaches at the boys' school and is great!
We absolutely love the Central Coast area and truly
enjoy the beach! I have kept in contact with many High
School friends and hopefully this wonderful website

My two girls are growing up. Cherie is 17 and Samantha
is 7. I'm the Green Living Editor at The Healthy
Planet Magazine and love it. I write about

here in Missouri is good, married now for 8 years to

Hello Spartans!
Hope this finds everyone in a good place! In early
2006, I decided that I needed a change and knew I
always wanted to live in the 'big city.' I put
everything into storage and hopped on Amtrak with a
one way ticket to New York City. An amazing way to
see the country! I have been here
since! What a GREAT city! Everyone should experience
it sometime! a few of my closest friends live here
so it is like having some family around to keep me in
check.
After Awalt, I continued in Retail Sales
for a couple years. Then attended Design Classes at
West Valley College in Saratoga. Moved to San
Francisco after that. Continued in Retail Management
with Coach spending 5 years Managing the Carmel
store. Back to San Francisco for 4 years where I was
with Ralph Lauren Home Collection. Gaining Design
Trade experience mixed with all those years of
retail.
I was in Los Angeles for 9 years... 3 years TOO long!
Managing a high end shop in THE best city in the world!
I've built up a great mix of friends over the years.
I'm still enjoying Fashion and all elements of Style.
I've seen some of you pop up over the past years.
(Usually throwing out some obscure but vivid memory of
us). Seeing classmates in the various places I've
lived or worked. Even one 1982 Spartan with Regis on
television. (Did someone almost win $32000)!?!
The internet is terrific. I've been able to contact a
few of you, catching up and rekindling some of our
memories.

Hi everybody!

I am in Southern California with my husband of 16 years
Bill. I have two great girls, Emma, 10 and Claire, 8.
After graduating the California Culinary Academy in SF
in 1988, I worked as a pastry chef there, and here in
LA after our move in 1991. When Emma was born, I began
teaching, helped open a culinary school here in South
Pasadena, and became executive chef there 1999. After
the school affiliated with Le Cordon Bleu the work got
to be too much, and I decided to spend more time as a
mom. So I am now teaching part-time, writing, and food
styling. It was great seeing everyone at the reunion in
'02. Lets have a 25 in '07!!

What's New?
After graduating Awalt, I went to UCSB and then
further south to UCLA (Go Bruins!) I stayed in LA for
14 years, got married inbetween, and got a job as a
pharmaceutical sales rep. I moved into marketing and
moved to Pennsylvania, then to New Jersey. I did a 6
year stint in global marketing before taking a job at
Genentech in S. San Francisco as head of marketing for
a product to treat breast cancer. I have 2 beautiful
girls and spend as much time as I can goofing off with
them.

After high school, I went to Santa Clara University
where I played soccer and graduated with my teaching
credential. I taught Kindergarten for 10 years in the
sunnyvale school district, married John Olsen('82) and
had two boys. Christopher is 8 and Jason is 6. We
have lived in Arroyo Grande for the past two years,
which has allowed me to be an "at home" mom. I do
spend quite a bit of time in the classroom helping out
the boys teachers. I can still be found on the soccer
field as well.

Three years Foothill (KFJC and NASA Ames Internship)
then U.C. Berkeley BA Physics 1986.

After lot's of odd jobs (Cab Driver in
Oakland...Wherehouse Records...Pizza
Delivery...Furniture Refinishing) wound up working as
Control Room Engineer at Stanford Linear Accelerator
Center (1988-present).

I still ride that old green Schwinn Varsity I called
wheels back when I was at Awalt (and Blach, and
Loyola).

Married in 2004 to Karen Berg (also grew up in Los
Altos for a few years but also France and UK). Two
young daughters Molly (2004) and Eva (2007) keep me
busier than I have ever been.

I've got a web site but it has gotten stale (some dead
links) maybe I'll update it one of these years.

I'm sorry to have missed the 10 and 20 year reunion.
Maybe I'll make it to the next one??? It's a lot of
fun to read what's new with you all.

A little of what I've been doing:

I met the love of my life (Norm) backpacking in the
Austrian Alps in 1984. We were married in 1987. We
lived in the Bay Area for a few years. I got my
bachelors in Psych at San Francisco State University.

We moved to Bend, Oregon in 1990 for an engineering
project Norm was undertaking. Then in 1991 we moved to
Dallas,Texas so my husband could pursue his Th.M. at
Dallas Theological Seminary. Nathaniel (12), Noah (9)
were born in Dallas. The people in Dallas were some of
the nicest people I'd ever met but we knew we wanted
to head back to the west.

We moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1994 after Norm
graduated. Shortly after our move here Mark (7) was
born. And just recently Olivia- 15 months- (a girl!!!)
was born.

We really love our little town. We are in the
foothills of the Cascade Mtns.It is incredibly
beautiful and peaceful here. Our family enjoys
fishing, hiking, snowboarding, skiing, waterskiing,
and the inspiration from all the natural beauty.

Our children keep us busy as with most families. All
the boys love sports (soccer, basketball
and baseball). My time is busy with driving children
to activities,teaching and all the other many hats a
mother wears. I love being mom to my 4 wonderful kids
and wife to my fantastic husband. I have so much to
thankful God for!

In my spare time I like to watercolor paint. I've been
taking some classes but would like to do more as time
allows. I have joined the Southwest Washington
Watercolor Society. And I hope to become an "active"
member some day.

More Details:

I've been practicing law for 12+ years and am
currently in LA. with a firm called Reed Smith Crosby
Heafey LLP. We are the product of a recent merger and
now have 1,000 attorneys. I work in Downtown L.A. and
defend companies in business and products liability
cases. Trying cases is my favorite part of the job,
but it doesn't happen as often as I'd like.

My wife, Dina, is terrific and Hunter and Seth are
pretty much the center of our world. We live in
West L.A. in a little town called "Westchester." It
reminds me a lot of Mountain View in the 70s and 80s --
lots of ordinary folks and young families -- but the
ladies don't have the big hair of our era.

Outside of work and family, I play soccer, exercise
and golf as much as possible. Life is treating us
pretty well, and we try to enjoy every day and not
take it for granted.

I enjoyed seeing the Awalt/M.V. classmates at the
reunion. I can't believe we're all about to turn 40!!

Let's see, school stuff first. Did the Foothill Jr.
College thing then transfered to Chico. I did
graduate, and on time although my parents were a bit
concerned about all of the extra curricular stuff I
was doing. Did my 5th year (student teaching) through
Hayward at the Concord site. Got my master's degree
in Children's Literature also from Hayward.

I have been taeching 6th grade at Canyon Middle School
in Castro Valley and love it. Imagine me going to
school every day! I can't think of a better job even
though the pay stinks.

I got married in 1994 to Michael Cole at the Little
Brown Church in Sunol right after Christmas. We have
two children. Lindsay is 6 and a spitfire just like
her mom. Jessica is 1 1/2,a people lover and billy
goat. I've never met a child who could climb onto
everything in one second flat. We live in
Pleasanton. Life is crazy but fun.

at Hewlett-Packard for 15 years before moving over to
work at Cisco Systems the last 5 years.

Very happily married to my wife Shelli for 19 years

Out of high school I attended college for awhile.
Worked in Yosemite for a season. 1983 lived in
Alameda and worked at West Marine Products for 3
years. Moved to Fresno in 1986 where I met my
husband. We were married in 1988. We have a son
Nicholas 17, and daughter Jacklyn 16. They are 16
months apart. I went back to school 1998 became a
P.T.A and 1999 a C.M.T., I'm an Instructor at a
Vocational School teaching Massage Therapy. I teach
all the sciences,anatomy,physiology,kinesiology,etc.
Life hasn't been easy, but gotta take the good with
the bad,learn from your mistakes and move to the next
level. Gotta say one thing, it sure has hightened my

Hi Folks!

In a Nut Shell! Living here in Massachusetts and
enjoying life, though Winters can be a bit -- lets

Was a graphic designer at Sierra College in
Rocklin, CA until 2001. Have now "retired" to take
care of my two kids who are 6 and 1-1/2 yrs. Not
sure how I was able to work 40 hours a week
before - I am so incredibly busy now.

My husband Dave and I have been in the
Sacramento area for 14 years. We met in 1981 and
after I graduated from Chico State in 1987, we got
married that summer.
