What's New?
Can't believe it's been 7 years since I looked at this
website, guess it's time for an update. Surviving
Katrina was a monumental experience not only in our
loss of our beach home on the gulf coast but more
importantly the loss of our hopes and dreams which no
amount of money can recover. After being exiled for 2
½ months after Katrina our return to our home in
uptown New Orleans was bitter sweet, it lasted less
than 5 months when I realized that for our needs New
Orleans was not at that time capable of supplying the
medical facilities we needed for my mother or my self
as a Cancer survivor since 2004.

Flash forward to 2012 ….. I moved my self and my
mother to Natchez Ms which was only a 3 hr. drive from
New Orleans, my husband has commuted up here every
weekend for the last 6 years and that alone is
amazing! I purchased a B&B in the historical district
and cried every day for 3 years missing New Orleans.
As my mothers sole caretaker it has been quite a
roller coaster ride, she has been bedridden since Oct
2010 and as I am sure many of you now or will be in
the near future dealing with the financial, medical
and governmental red tape of being a caregiver it has
been both enlightening and stressful. My mother is 99
now and is ready to pass on and my job is to make her
as comfortable as possible in the interim. When this
chapter of my life is completed I will move back to
New Orleans, travel, and be able to spend time with
the 3 grandkids in New Orleans where my daughter and
her husband reside and my son and his wife who live in
San Francisco.

Over the years I have been fortunate with friends
trekking cross country to see me from Chico, Southern
California and points north south east and west. Dewey
Williams (who I have known since 2nd grade) has made
quite a few visits to both NO and Natchez to visit
(actually he is due to arrive next week for another
visit) and it is always wonderful to catch up on his
adventures and travels.

So for now that’s about it for the update it never
fails to amaze me how fast the years have flown by
since high school and after reading the bio’s of the
67’ alumni’s where all of our paths have led us.
