After 15+ years in pharmaceutical research, I
recently left Pfizer to start a second career as HS
math and science teacher. 'best decision I every
made. Claudette and I will celebrate our 23rd
anniversary this year. Spencer is now 15 and Audrey
is 12, and we still live with an assortment of
labrador retrievers, cats and a pony. When I manage
to find free time, priorities are still playing
tennis and homebrewing.
Feb 2010 Update: Last June I learned that I had stage 4
throat cancer. After lots of chemo, radiation and 7
months from hell, I had a clean PET scan in December!
I am so thankful for my amazing doctors, friends and
family!
I returned to work January 19 and am still grinning to
have a life again. I am under close watch for a couple
of years, but am enjoying every day. Spencer will be a
freshman at the U of Michigan College of Engineering in
the fall. Audrey is now a sophomore in high school.
We weren't really able to celebrate, but our 25th
wedding anniversary was in September. I love teaching
more than ever.
